L-Green

$2,500.00

The Statue of Liberty has always represented more to me than a monument. She carries layers of hope, struggle, freedom, belonging, and the promise of a new beginning. In the Liberty Series, I take this instantly recognizable symbol and break it apart, rebuilding it through hundreds of individually stamped squares on a deeply textured surface.

From across the room, L-Green gathers those fragments into the familiar silhouette of the Statue of Liberty. Come closer, and the image begins to dissolve. Individual squares, ridges, breaks, and variations in the surface reveal themselves, asking you to slow down and look again. The painting changes with your distance - and with your attention.

L-Green gives this interpretation of the Statue of Liberty a sense of renewal, growth, possibility, and hope. It speaks to freedom as something that allows us not only to begin again, but to grow into who we are and imagine what might be possible next. The green feels alive against the textured surface, suggesting that freedom is not a finished state - it is something that continues to evolve.

Perhaps that is what makes the Statue of Liberty such a lasting symbol: we each bring our own history, hopes, memories, and understanding to her. Freedom may be a shared ideal, but the possibilities it opens are deeply personal.

Living with L-Green is an invitation to keep looking - to discover something familiar from across the room, something unexpected up close, and perhaps a reminder of your own capacity for growth and new beginnings.

L-Green is the third of six paintings in the Liberty Series, each exploring the same enduring symbol through a different color and emotional perspective.
